El bajón de la semana
Sin pretender ser de los que se suben al lomo de la bestia desbocada que se conoce con el nombre de crisis económica, quiero pasar el parte de la semana en Holanda. Como en absolutamente todo el mundo, aquí se siguió (se sigue) con enorme preocupación el huracán de la vereda de enfrente. Un periódico ilustraba el pasado “lunes negro” de las caídas bursátiles con un mapa del pronóstico del tiempo, con nubarrones negros arrojando rayos sobre las grandes ciudades europeas y un frente de tormenta del oeste, casi tan grande como el continente.
A lo largo de la semana y conforme la crisis se agudizaba, el ministro de Economía, Wouter Bos, iba subiendo la apuesta. La garantía de depósitos de ahorro por el valor de 38 mil euros pasó el miércoles a 100 mil (“¡Menos mal, qué alivio!”, chiste obligado…)
Bos quiere evitar así la retirada masiva de los ahorros.
Las circunstancias son distintas, pero ¿quién diría que el fantasma de la crisis del 2001 en Argentina me perseguiría siete años después…, ¡en Holanda!?
Este jueves, la Organización Mundial de la Salud advertía que como consecuencia de la crisis aumentaron los suicidios y los problemas mentales. Insisto, no seré de la partida.
Otra medida de Bos, la inyección de 20 mil millones de euros, ahora apuntando a las instituciones financieras, no “inyectó” confianza y el índice bursátil de Ámsterdam, AEX, cerró el viernes con una baja del 8,5 por ciento.
Una consecuencia directa que afecta el hombre común es la dificultad para acceder a una hipoteca. Por el contrario, el precio de los alquileres bajó un 0,3 por ciento en el tercer trimestre del año, por primera vez en 18 años, según anunció el jueves la unión de agentes inmobiliarios, NVM.
Y ahora, sin ánimo de aportar nada a esta discusión de la que ni los expertos entienden, me despido de la semana con un chiste que publica el Volkskrant.
